Challenge
Zillow supports a vast product ecosystem and a range of marketing initiatives, but its size and complexity made it tough for teams to collaborate smoothly. As the company scaled, it became harder to keep things consistent and aligned, especially when working with external partners.
Zillow needed a partner who could navigate this complexity, streamline design processes, and ensure consistent collaboration across teams. The goal was to simplify internal workflows while maintaining a cohesive brand experience across their platforms.
Approach
Early work centered on deep integration and collaborative evolution with Zillow's design teams. Through onboarding, workshops, and co-creation sessions, we became a trusted partner in their design evolution. Our approach was collaborative from the start, with continuous learning and feedback helping us stay aligned with Zillow’s shifting priorities.
Using our expertise in design systems, we supported Zillow in refining their Figma-based system. We introduced a new tokens-based spacing system and developed modular design solutions tied to specific business needs. This approach helped bridge gaps in their existing approach, allowing for a more streamlined design process and a stronger digital presence across Zillow’s platforms.
Results
Our work has helped Zillow move faster while staying aligned with their brand. Key projects like redesigning the homepage search module have enabled teams to test new approaches and improve user engagement.
We also supported Zillow with marketing and landing pages, addressing a variety of business goals—from educating renters about new payment options to helping realtors navigate shifting legal requirements.
By integrating with Zillow’s teams and streamlining workflows, we’ve enabled them to launch updates more efficiently and meet their ambitious goals.
